"You can preemptively register as a Conscientious Objector if you are worried about being drafted. To do so you register for the Selective Service, and write 'I am a CO' when you do so. For extra protection you can do the CO application & send to us to keep on file for you"

This period used to be only 180 days, but effective December 23, 2022 entry-level status changed to 365 days."
