It got very warm around here so I'm getting started on gardening. I stumble, literary, across these two geodes. Some of you may remember that I keep finding small geodes in my backyard... but this (one in the back in photo) may be the biggest one. My collection grows!

If I recall, there was a theory that someone collected them, brought them there, and then they got scattered. In any case, it's either that or aliens.

@donray Yes, a geology or mining profs (I live in a college town) were suspected... But I totally prefer aliens!

I've got a couple good-sized geodes in my yard, but I know who put them there: me.

They're from where I grew up in SE Iowa -- which is the region of the famed "Keokuk Geodes."
