@MAGPIE because work(TM) and a bunch of meh experiences I've kinda taken xfs as my default reassuringly boring fs instead of ext4, 'cause it's more reliable especially with large partitions and performs better, so there really seems to be not much reason to use ext4 over it (except one downside, you can't shrink XFS partitions). btrfs tbh I still don't particularly trust just because it's mostly solid but looking at the issues people have with it when it does break it's often catastrophic and there's no recovery beyond restoring a backup, and some of these edge cases are known and not being prioritised as fixes, which isn't an attitude I like seeing in something so critical >.>
