I realize that in 2026, saying the WaPo op-ed page has gotten dumber than a bag of bricks is not saying something novel, but "Your salted caramel mocha latte is destroying society", invoking Edmund Burke, might set a benchmark for the year even though we're only 3 months in.

@shriramk Literally just yesterday I read a column from Megan McArdle in #WaPo against a wealth tax that wildly conflates the housing market, where supply is inflexible, with consumption goods in general, like there is a finite amount of healthcare or cans of beans in the world.

And after their editorial board became hilariously bad, they laid off a trillion reporters covering interesting stuff around here I care about, so their crappy opinion pages aren't even saved by local coverage anymore.
