Car culture is wack, the oil industry is total garbage, but driving and maintaining cars is actually pretty sick it turns out.
@ritualdust yeah i wish it didnt come with the Other Things!
@ritualdust I haven't tried car maintenance but I've been having a lot of fun working on my bikes.
@csepp yess, it bring me similar satisfaction than working on my bike, there's just a couple more parts haha
@ritualdust @csepp i feel like i need a motorcycle for this reason. I love working on my bike, but have traumatic memories of working on cars, and I'm often scared of cars breaking down on me because it happened so often when i was younger. But it can be so satisfying to mintain them.
@cathos @csepp that makes sense, it's kinda like the perfect middle ground. It sucks that you had a bunch of cars break on you, it's always so expensive 😬 luckily our 2004 Camry is still in great shape for now
@ritualdust I love cars! They're cool machines and fun to work on and use!
I hate needing a car because where I live! (United States, not a city with good public transportation)
At the very least I can pride myself in regularly driving a small car (by US standards) with pretty good gas mileage, and regularly making use of the full cargo capacity.
@ritualdust I've had this exact thought in my brain ever since my girlfriend got me into motorbikes. Love the mechanics and driving of cars and motorbikes, wish their presence in this world was reduced to hobbyist status instead of a "necessity"
