hot take: housing shouldn't be a commodity
anyway, if I end up getting published and being hugely successful instead of becoming homeless in a month, I promise I won't buy superyachts, I'll house people

#Housing should be regulated as a public utility and people should have the right to affordable housing enshrined.

  • IMHO anything beyond renting a spare room/condo in one's personal home should only be permissible to rent in tennant-owned #cooperatives that are mandated to put the #sustainability and #longterm interests of their clients (=owners) first.
    • My hometown did exactly that: Spun off the city-owned developer/housing firm into a #cooperative that is solely owned by it's tennants, providing both sides with stability and safety…
@ClarusPlusPlus this is a cold take in my circles (which is to say i agree)
