@3dcandy the simple answer is no, ai is not ruining everything.
...
in fact AI is doing nothing because it cannot do anything.
AI might be fancy but at the end of the day it's still just computer software.

if we have a look at who is using the AI though, we quickly realize the truth. the people destroy everything now are the same people that were before AI was a big thing.

@loganer that is one way to look at it... but not the way most people I have talked to recently see it. A lot is because they don't understand it though

@3dcandy most people are very illogical so this outcome is somewhat expected.

but blaming AI for any of this, good or bad, makes no sense at all.

you would not blame a knife for the murder it was used in and you would not blame the knife for an excellent dish that it was used to create, I would hope at least.
these events have real people that did them and the same is true for AI, someone had to startup the AI and put it into action.

@loganer of course, but this conversation has happened to me about 10 times recently.... thus the post. And most of those I talked to think AI is ruining everything.... so as I said, I don't think so, but the majority thinks so! I don't believe they understand users and social media because they also think social media starts and ends with Facebook

@3dcandy EH facebook! that makes sense now.

you know I had almost forgot that platform existed outside of it occasionally being mentioned for it's market place.
I personally avoid that site and also tiktok like they might just be metaphorically radioactive.

@loganer you just forget the site with the biggest numbers? But yep - for the vast majority of people social media is just facebook....

@3dcandy "you just forget the site with the biggest numbers?"

well ya, the last time I personally used the site was back in 2008 and the numbers it has are practically meaningless to me (if not having the reverse of the typical "network effect").

@loganer I used to use it because it had a lot of my peers on it, but they are drifting away nowadays
