Spent the weekend kayaking and camping along Tomales Bay. We watched elephant seals, ate great food, swam with glowing dinoflagellates, and woke up to the sound of a juvenile gray whale near our campsite. Couldn’t have picked a better weekend for it.
Back home now, all washed and unpacked. Enjoying cheese and mead from our favorite spots in Point Reyes.

On the topic of whale spotting in Tomales Bay: we saw a young whale near our campsite at Marshall Beach around 7:30am.

Later we learned there were sightings near Pelican Point and Hog Island around the same times we paddled past. We only saw it once, but I like to imagine we spent the whole day hanging out with a whale.
