@mhoye I wanted to like this essay better but he gets the Luddites wrong on "retreat from technology" which is not incidental to his argument about poorly reasoned elite panic over broader social choices outside their control.
@mhoye "designed for whom by whom" is a good line of questioning and, well, who sets these better default behaviors when good design requires well-resourced coordination and possibly regulatory mandates to create an alternative to its current steady state of profitable chaos?
