I have discovered the densest object in the universe and it is a #Godaddy customer support agent

@msh

I had a small godaddy account set up more than a decade ago, and I still get spam to the email address I used.

As near as I can tell, they either sell your address, or have disgruntled employees that steal it.

Avoid GD.

@number6 I am forced to deal with #Godaddy support to recover the account for their domain which has 2FA set up for a device that no longer exists linked to a former employee of the nonprofit I am volunteering IT support for...

...so I can initiate transfer of their domain to a different registrar

@msh

Oh, that sounds horrific.

I have an interest at the moment in how non-profit entities with volunteer, non-centralized administration do or should manage and pass-on digital properties (web sites, domain names).

It seems like you're stuck with a series of managers with various levels of competence needing to revoke and recreate logins with each generation.

But this is error-prone, and then you have a situation like what you're describing.
