@captainlezbian I think they are. They just don't care. I think most of them see it as evidence of their manliness.
I'm not joking about that. I really do believe that in the US, a lot of pickup owners -- maybe a majority, maybe more -- are doing it performatively. The truck is their personality, an expression of their insucurities and constant need to 'prove' they're 'real men'. It's sad.
