How Trump’s War in Iran Has Echoes of Putin and Ukraine

The many similarities between the White House’s justification for war in Iran and Russia’s messaging on Ukraine underscore the risks of a vaguely defined, open-ended war.

@jeffjarvis the US will be paying the price for Trump pt.2 long after he's gone. It's only "not a war" because he chose to ignore democratic process and not consult congress. Instead, he took it upon himself to start a war through state sponsored assassination. I don't think that plays any better.

I'd like to think this means, for once, he'll be held solely responsible for his actions - but I know better.

@jeffjarvis

Most people that have been paying attention the past 3 or 4 decades assume this is just a remake of the movies we've seen several times already. Since there is little anyone can do to stop him (until after the midterms), I think the opposition should point out the problems that are obvious (not involving Congress...) and express concern that this will not end well (if ever).

If (when) it blows up in his face, then pile on and remind people this wasn't Biden's fault🤔
