A basket of new fruit varieties is coming your way
Vegetables and fruits used to be such that you pick the nicer ones from your garden/field, you let them ripe very well, extract their seeds and save them for the next season. You could share seeds with your neighbors, or sell.
“Modern” commercial seeds are a one-time product: you plant the seeds, get the produce, but it is hard to save seeds from it because if you attempt to save them, next season you get weak, ill plants, with many deformations.
Fruits and vegetables found at the store are the same, they will give you weak ill plants. But at least you could try to stabilize the seeds by picking the strongest, and recover the fertility of the plants.
Now, for “the convenience” of no seeds, you don’t even have the chance to even get ill plants. You simply get NOTHING.
That, my friend, is the wet dream of big agricultural corporations: holding people hostage. Add their herbicides + seeds resistant to it, and you have the exact same model that big tech has on us: you need to continuously pay them just to cover your basic needs.
Your options? None. Keep paying. Even if you “could” reproduce the seeds of those that still have, you are prohibited of doing so, because the genes of the produce are registered as Monsanto intellectual property, and you’ll get lawsuits for growing food.
But, hey! Let’s look at the positive side, the fucking raspberry doesn’t have fucking seeds! Our lives are so much better without the motherfucking seeds!
You will own nothing and you will like it.
