I get the goofiest ads on meta platforms.

I saw a place advertising a $450 bible as a buy it for life item. Nice leather, nice additions and illustrations.

I, uh, I have $30 bibles that have done 10 years of hard service and are no worse for the wear. You know the most delicate part of all the bibles I own, including this “forever bible?” The pages. The pages are still bible paper.

I used to balk at a $100 real leather bible but good night…
@spaceraser I own this thing, and even though ESV is not my favorite, I love it because the paper is thick. https://www.crossway.org/bibles/esv-readers-bible-six-volume-set-cob/
ESV Reader's Bible, Six-Volume Set

This beautiful, six-volume set printed on European book paper, packaged in an elegant slipcase, and formatted with single-column text is without section headings, verse, and chapter numbers—allowing readers to encounter Scripture as one cohesive narrative.

@abarker I have something similar in niv. I usually break it out when I’m assigned like, a whole epistle to read, or an entire narrative block of a book like genesis. Much nicer to sit and read uninterrupted with.
@spaceraser you mean this one? Yeah, i got an ad for it too
