I just learned that the soil type of our little plot of land is "abiqua silty clay loam." Now, I need to learn what the hell that means.

@scandigonian Silt is between sand and clay, in terms of particle size. Silty clay loam is uh... less bad than silty clay. The goal is to get to the middle of this triangle. Unless you're growing carrots, then you want bottom middle to left.

Either way the amount of organic matter in the soil is the biggest tell for how healthy it is.
