This is a Labour still not ruling out forming a forming a government with Winston First FFS! Even as they double-down on anti-Māori rhetoric and queer-bashing (bathroom bans and harassing queer MPs), and embrace full-throated anti-immigrant racism, Hipkins is still willing to go there.

In what universe are they offering Māori anything that justifies even 1 tick?

Māori could split their vote in a way that boosts seat numbers for a party that recognises tino rangatiratanga. While increasing the chances of creating an overhang that could balance out the malign influence of Winston First, leading to a significant change of government *policy paradigm*, rather than just a change of Chrises.

But if they give either of their votes to Labour, they might as well party vote Winston First. Because as in 2017, they'd be in charge of the new government.
