Women are constantly judged by arbitrary rules about how they choose to dress. In 2014 the brand Terre Des Femmes and the creators at Miami Ad School launched a powerful campaign that exposed exactly how ridiculous this judgment really is. The print ads feature a literal measuring stick mapped directly onto a woman's body to track skirt length, heel height, and necklines.
The brilliance of this visual is how it exposes the impossible trap society creates. The labels on the ruler range from Prude at one end all the way to Whore at the exact opposite end. It proves that no matter where a woman falls on the scale she is going to be heavily criticized. The campaign forces viewers to confront their own internal biases and perfectly delivers its core message. You should never measure a woman's worth by her clothes.
@anna_lillith And this is why the conservative made such a big deal of ”woke”: Because at the core of woke is self-reflection.
