Richard Hawley - Coles Corner

Another one of those "hard to believe this is 20 years old" albums.

Hawley briefly toured with Pulp (not to mention R.E.M.), and was a member of Longpigs back in the day. But mostly he's released a series of great solo records, of which this is the fourth.

These are classically arranged broken heart songs—think Orbison/Isaac)—a good LP to follow the romance of Aldana's Filin.

@dnanian “Coles Corner” and “The Ocean” are two easy favourites, but it’s a great album from start to finish.

If you don’t know Mark Eitzel or American Music Club, you should check out their discography. Especially Eitzel’s “60-watt Silver Lining”.
