I've even playing a Pokemon Yellow ROM hack recently called Pokemon Yellow Legacy. It's a pretty basic enhancement hack, but it's fun! Plays like the idealized version of the Gen 1 games I have in my head.

I've also been going down internet rabbit holes looking for new ROM hacks to play, even though I haven't even finished this one yet. This is the list I compiled so far of ones that catch my interest.
Polished Crystal
Recharged Yellow
Dark Violet
Unbound
Refined Gold
Odyssey
Heart & Soul
Pure RGB
Renegade Platinum
Glazed
Prism
This list doesn't include Pokemon Fire Red Rocket Edition because I played that one in the past, but it's amazing. The gimmick of playing as a member of Team Rocket and stealing trainers' Pokemon instead of catching wild ones is fun of course, but the real draw is the absolutely amazing plot. It's a "behind the scenes" story of what was happening during the Gen 1 plot from another perspective and it's genius. It adds so much depth to the plot without blatantly contradicting any of the canon from the original games.
I've also played Crystal Clear in the past, and while it's a really impressive project, there were some things about it that rubbed me the wrong way and I never beat it. I considered going back to it, but since I found so many other ROM hacks I want to play, I don't really feel the need to for now.
