I think I need to update the @manyfold contributor license agreement (CLA) to assert that the code wasn't generated by genAI tools, therefore the contributor owns the copyright and is able to assign it under an open license.

Anyone seen any good wording, examples, etc?

Would you mind explaining this to me? Are your concerns about the ethic issues AI generated code has or are there some legal issues I haven’t recognised yet?
@DanielPa @manyfold ethical issues yes, but also the fact that various courts are finding that AI generated code isn’t copyrightable, which would mean that the “author” can’t put it under an open source license.

Thanks, I don’t want to open that discussion especially about the ethics. And I am far away of contributing to manyfold. But I like the idea that much that I tried to follow the codebase with my poor ruby knowledge. And I heavily use AI to get an understanding of it and could not guaranty that I will not use it to do my future PR. So with this you would lock me and potentially others like me, out of contributing code. Closed source devs wouldn’t give 💩
@DanielPa @manyfold sure, I understand that. It’s a bit of a minefield at the moment, and we have to be careful not to jeopardise funding terms. Hopefully clarity will emerge before too long.
