Join us tonight as we reflect on that often under-appreciated companion to the canals, the humble towpath. We uncover its vital importance in the past and how in, recent years, its relationship with the canal has been changing. We also meet up again with E. Temple Thurston and the good captain Eynsham Harry as the meet a figure of the forgotten past.

@nosw beautiful as always. It really feels like spring here too today, as I write and watch Suffolk countryside pass the train window under sunshine. I am blown away at the listnership outside the UK! I think it proves more about people sharing things in common regardless of place than anything. I wonder if people also watch 'Slow TV' (i love train and boat journeys on youtube) to relax. I would love to see a journey from the prow of a narrowboat, just in real time with the natural sounds and put-putting of the engine etc. I love narrowboat vlogs, but a slow tv version would be perfect, and somehow fit perfectly with NOSW
@Aspiedan Yes, the amount of listeners outside the UK is amazing. There are some slow TV narrowboat vlogs. David Johns I know has done a few. This is a nice one: https://youtu.be/HhSUZRZPHp0?si=Px-d86HozZRbIQri
