“By Sen. Bernie Sanders. Surprise! The Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post is against my 5% billionaire wealth tax. I wonder why? If enacted, Bezos would owe $12 billion in taxes, and an average family of 4 would receive a $12,000 direct payment. Poor Jeff would be left with just $224 billion to survive.”

@JackMexa4 @mstarace

Seriously, Bezos' absurd wealth isn't the real problem here, and it's disappointing that Sanders fails to either acknowledge or is too coward to say it out loud:

The problem with Bezos is that he's a fascist, and that everyone buying from Amazon or using their services doesn't give a shit to fund his fascistic actions.

@proscience @JackMexa4 @mstarace this feels eerily similar to the "ecological footprint" responsibility redirect that BP pushed. Fascism is a systemic problem that you can't just vote out with your wallet

@punissuer

Your toot feels eerily familiar to the ones of lazy ideological failures who always blame somebody else instead of taking responsibility for their actions and inactions.

In other words: Very similar to Trump and his filthy rich ilk.

Bye.

@JackMexa4 @mstarace

@proscience @JackMexa4 @mstarace walk me through this. Say, point midnight, every consumer stops buying from Amazon. Ignoring business customers that can't easily switch computing providers, you're telling me that of that trillion dollar plus defense budget, not a single dime is gonna end up in Bezos' pockets?
