With so much focus on the building industry consequences of Asbestos in Australia, I'm stunned I never came across the history of the mine where a lot of it came from. Today I dive into what happened at Wittenoom. @EngNet https://engineered.space/notice/B41m0CTN8JK9aKXqLY

@chidgey @EngNet a little older than you, so Wittenoom is a very memorable name - remember stories about all the tailings across the town for kids to play in. A horror story—well told by causality. As you say, a different sort of story. Like smoking, climate change - a story of corporate cover up too. But much to large for a single podcast. Sure the ABC would have some great series.
@Jeremysean55 @EngNet Causality is never going to be a show about “justice" whatever that looks like, since let's be honest, justice is in the eye of the beholder. Frankly it's been done and over done, and there's nothing I can add that others haven't already in that way. The fact CSR closed it due to “lack of profitability”, the dust collectors were to prevent fiber loss, and the government ignored their own departments advice to close it. I mean? What? It’s horrible.
