@31113 @aral I mean, some of their marketing is that but they also make the only reparable phone around, so if you care about that it's a pretty good argument

@xandru @31113 @aral they arent the only ones, but other companies tend to be smalller and more expensive. I personally went for a shiftphone, and I know a friend that went for volla, but they are just advertising the reparable part (they also make their own os, iirc). There are maybe others out there.

The physical components can be replaced, but they allow a single company the monopoly on low-level repairs: Cordon Electronics (Goullet de Rugy) is the only company in Europe with access to the tools to debrick or restore a phone.

Should Firehose be published?

A cheap EDL cable can get to 9008 mode. It’s useless without the firehose programmer elf file.
