Reading the tz mailing list discussion about BCs timezone change is interesting.

POSIX requires that timezone abbreviations be at least 3 characters, yet the BC government have proposed that BC's timezone be referred to as "Pacific Time". Ignoring potential confusion, that means that PT isnt a legal abbreviation for tzdata. Oops.
