I blame moderation in public forums and social media, for decades now, they have justified that political content is as offensive as racism, religious fundamentalism, sexism, nationalism.

"Users" have transferred this mode of thinking in their physical life, and have become aggressive as they become a majority, against anyone who attempts to politicize any issue discussed.
