On the issue of time change, I propose this compromise:

We advance time by 30 minutes in spring, and go back only 30 minutes in the fall 🙂

Another option isto advance 1 hour on spring and don't switch in the fall.
(every 24 years, we have a leap day which would be an official holiday throughout Canada).

The dangers of BC staying in summer time are huge.

With the sun rising so late, BC people will simply devolve into hibernating mammals staying in bed all winter. While hibernation offers advantages for environment (less pollution, etc), it wil have huge impact on hospitals, in particular maternity wards. In the spring, BC folks' reproductive urges will awaken at same time which means BC women will all show up in BC hospitals in December at same time to give birth.
😉

@jfmezei The problem is early risers (and mothers of young children heading to school) wanting sun early, and people wanting to take advantage of the sun later in the day. The sun is out when it is out, it doesn’t change (as pets with feeding schedules will confirm). The solution is to provide flexible schedules for people to enjoy the sun when they want to enjoy it.
