@simon I take back what I previously said, it was very unspecific. What I meant to say is that we shouldn't underestimate government surveillance, all over the world. But I totally agree that the commercial surveillance, is probably the most large scale surveillance system we know of.
@voxel Ah yes, I completely see where you are coming from, and you are absolutely right. The govt. surveillance apparatus has grown exponentially, for sure, but also, due to third part doctrine, they end up purchasing a lot of data from advertisers hence no need for warrants .. none of it is good in any way

I believe this to be a more USA-centric problem, but it's still a problem that affects people globally nonetheless.
