@postmarketOS used reform-gnome-config from reform-tools to set up essential keybindings (for terminal, fullscreen, screenshots/recording, window mgmt, super-rightclick-resize) and dashtodock

@moonglum the rk3588 gets a lot hotter and uses more energy. multi core speed is afaik similar, but qcs6490 has at least one core that is faster than the cores in rk3588. the gpu drivers support opengl 4.5 and can run blender vs the rk3588/mali/panfrost which can't do that _yet_. the qcs6490 module will be limited to 8GB and has less i/o lanes (pcie, displays) than the rk3588.

@moonglum we won't be able to do HDMI on the pocket reform with qcs6490, but we'll be able to do displayport in some form.

@moonglum yeah the qcs chips have no hdmi at all, but DSI that we can convert to hdmi with another chip. but the qcs6490 has only one DSI channel, and we need that for the internal display on pocket reform.

@mntmn Cool! For my personal use, I would definitely prefer Display Port via USB-C over HDMI for my Pocket Reform. Would be super cool to use the dock on my desk with a single cable for display, charging and peripherals. On the go, however, HDMI is pretty useful 😅

Oh this is delightful and offers me a first path for Signal on a tablet, since Android is not supported.

@mntmn this is maybe not exactly what you're asking but anyway, there is in pmOS an awesome program called "signal-cli" that you can install by doing simply "apk add signal-cli".

@mntmn @postmarketOS i typically build from https://gitlab.com/undef1/signal-desktop-builder . It gives you a tar.xz, and for Debian, it gives a .deb

@mntmn @postmarketOS I'd like to think the Signal-Desktop package that I maintain (via apk add signal-desktop) is good, although only built on edge.
