We’re never going to go back to pretending that tweeting at politicians does anything and everyone there is desperately trying to build a “brand” as the funny one or whatever. I want news I don’t want your endless meta commentary on the news."

Exactly! Titter's motive for funding BS was like corporate participation in Open Source, it's about externalising their costs to the community not participating in a commons.
