Whoa! Didn't think it would ever happen, but I got hold of one of my grails, a 1986 Amiga 1000, the first model in this line of computers. It's a PAL machine, and the keyboard is made norwegian with a bunch of little stickers. I love it. Commodore had trouble bringing this thing to the market, and it was way too expensive. Very few was sold here. I remember it as a schoolyard myth - Commodore's Next Big Thing after the 64 and the 128, it was fantastic, but you couldn't get it yet. The kids were abuzz, and some scammer in the next town was claiming to have stock on order and was pre-selling them for a way too low price.
