i think i'm going to migrate away from nixos to a desktop-focused distro; my hardware is old and i am tired of it being unsupported... any suggestions?

@guenther tired of my hardware no longer working under nixos...

I think I need to hop distros a couple times to rule out the hardware simply being unsupported by linux...

or maybe I should just go try compiling my own kernel and find out if I can get sleep/hibernate/graphics to work properly again...

I just don't have time these days for much
