@SargeT @SmudgeTheInsultCat first time hearing this, sounds even weirder than the pork ban 😳 but maybe it has some grounds like some people (my mother for example) can't eat sea molluscs, maybe long time ago some people tried and died so they banned just to be sure 🤔
@ralen @SmudgeTheInsultCat i don’t think it’s that someone died. anyone can die of anything if they have an allergy, for example. water, ordinary water has the lethal dose (LD50) for human — 6-7 liters. you drink them and the nerve impulses will stop reaching your muscles, your lung diaphragm will stop, and you will suffocate.
as for kashrut, judaism has the most commandments — more than half a thousand. even the eastern religions are less prescribed and even less restrictive. so is the culture.
