For those curious, this bill defines a covered operating system as one where a single vendor controls the OS, device activation, and the application store.

Because that does not describe Linux distributions, this requirement does not apply to Linux

Unless they decide that this describes most distros if you squint correctly at them and then it becomes an expensive court battle to show that it does not

@gbargoud That wouldn't hold in court. They would need to expand the definition; it's still just a draft, so that would be possible.
