I had been meaning to gently consider neovim sometime…how’s the slop quotient over there? 😒

@bitprophet yeah this makes me want to switch from vim. For me, the big problem is that neovim's Windows GUI is awful compared to vim's. I just cant get used to console-only vim clones, and "good native GUI" is a big requirement. So I'm stuck :-( Luckily vim changes so little st this point that just not updating is probably a good option...

@pfmoore yea, I’ve gone years at a time on non-new vim major revs without noticing, so that’s certainly an option!

In your case, have you looked at helix or zed? No idea how their GUIs are (if they have them) but.

@bitprophet Helix has no GUI (yet - they say it's planned) and zed has built in AI (I believe). Helix looks interesting, though - I might see if I can learn to live with console-only...
@pfmoore FWIW, and not sure if it applies to helix (but I would bet it applies to neovim; it definitely applies to vanilla console vim) console apps these days have startlingly good mouse support compared to a few decades ago. Scrolling, clicking, dragging, you name it.

@bitprophet @pfmoore now Windows just needs a good console experience :P

(I don't know if vim's +mouse et al. work in Windows Terminal, but since gvim has always been right there I've never bothered to find out)

@SnoopJ @pfmoore gah right, good point, no idea there!
