Does anyone here know any way apart from Qobuz, Bandcamp or jpc.de to aquire Japanese songs and albums - digitally or physically - in Germany?
@rifka already made me aware of Mandarake but that's not quite what I was searching for.
I'm grateful for any advice 🫢🏻

Otherwise cd japan ships to Germany, but you will have tax
that's for physically

For digital release you can use apple music. It has an the itunes store implemented and you are not region locked anymore.

@bookstardust
Fair enough.
They don't have FLAC files for most releases, as far as I remember, though, because they use the iTunes / Apple file format.

I'll definitely keep that in mind, though, thanks for the reminder! ^^

@KazuShuSora do you need flac? Within our share culture m4a format is as respected as flac. I always rather take a m4a file than a flac because flac files are just unecessary huge just to preserve quality a normal ear basically cannot hear anyway.

@bookstardust
I do not necessarily need it, I just try to get the best quality for my money, when I'm willing to spend 1-6 € for a song.

Usually I get the Hi-Fi Qobuz FLAC files, but most Japanese artists are region locked to Japan, sadly.

It could be so easy and all in one place, but it seems like the Japanese music industry is kinda special πŸ˜…

@KazuShuSora yes, tell me about it πŸ˜‚
I just had to proxy ship an album through CD Japan. They did not even list the album, so i had to ask them to get it.
i am very happy now, that apple music works so well. In japan most use iphones, so the first digital service that was used was itunes. It was region locked, so i had to buy japanese gift cards and sneak my way into the japanese itunes store.
Now i can just buy it with apple music, which is a big help.
@bookstardust
That's great πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈπŸ’•
The iPhone thing makes sense, didn't think about that, before πŸ‘€
@bookstardust
Just had a look at the iTunes version of my little test album and I can't get it in full, I have to buy every track, separately 🫠
It's beyond me why the industry built that many barriers between me and the option to purchase an album.

@KazuShuSora wenn du auf die Artistseite gehst, geht's nicht?

So hab ich das noch nie erlebt.

@bookstardust
Da steht dann "Teilalbum" und es ist ausgegraut :D
Im Album selbst, kann ich dann aber alle 13 Songs fΓΌr 1,29 € das StΓΌck kaufen.
