@bitprophet yeah this makes me want to switch from vim. For me, the big problem is that neovim's Windows GUI is awful compared to vim's. I just cant get used to console-only vim clones, and "good native GUI" is a big requirement. So I'm stuck :-( Luckily vim changes so little st this point that just not updating is probably a good option...

@pfmoore @bitprophet Emacs with evil mode? Supposedly has quite good vi emulation. I use spacemacs so I don't have to configure everything myself. Can't speak to Windows GUI though.

@itamarst @bitprophet I've dabbled with emacs occasionally. Windows GUI is OK, but from what I recall font and/or theme handling was annoyingly glitchy. Also, I tend to dismiss emacs because I remember the days when it was considered big and slow. Sigh.
