Chile has rebuilt access to welfare around a municipal “one-stop shop”. Before, vulnerable families in Chile often had to make multiple trips to municipal offices to secure a single benefit. That all changed with the launch of Gestión Social Local in 2019: since then, GSL has reached 10 million poor and vulnerable people across 339 municipalities, trained 10,000+ municipal workers, and processed more than 13 million benefit requests.
