I kind of want to do something with the Loony Tunes character Buddy. Jumping off of his reputation of being the most boring LT star, I want to make him distutbingly normcore. I think he could be rehabilitated into an interesting character.
Might add Bimbo the Pup to this too. His main traits are 1) he really doesn't want to be in this situation and 2) he's a wifeguy (though given his partner is Betty freaking Boop it's kind of hard to blame him).
Were I to actually do this, I would probably head up the trio with a more active character. I'm thinking Julius the Cat from the Alice Comedies. He would be quetly jealous of Mickey Mouse and openly have a one-sided beef with Pete.
If I do this, I might call it Footnotes, because all of these characters feel like footnotes in the careers of other cartoon stars (Julius was the first one to go against Pete, Bimbo was eclipsed by his love intrtest, and no one liking Buddy led to the creation of, among others, Porky Pig).
