For decades, ‘This Is It!’ was part of Wisconsin’s cultural landscape, serving as an important gathering place for the LGBTQ+ community." The Wisconsin Historical Society approved a state historic marker recognizing ‘This Is It!’, Wisconsin’s oldest LGBTQ+ bar, which opened in Milwaukee in 1968 and operated for nearly 57 years before closing in March 2025.
