Another successful (but seemingly unnecessary) recap completed (the 1541). Now the C64's and VIC-20 all have new caps, as does the 1084S-D1 monitor. The 128D doesn't and I'm not in a hurry to recap it honestly because I find the 64 and vic-20 much cuter.

thought about it but didn't care enough, not made of money either

last time i put solid caps in something i regretted it and that wasn't even a commodore product
(famicom, mil spec tantalum cap that eventually failed after a couple years and nearly caught fire; got super hot and stopped system from turning on)

@wyatt Okay, that all makes sense.

  • I just try to go #SolidCaps due to some really nasty "pooping" on a particular board of mine.
    • But yeah good solidcaps are expensive.
