most comedians really live in the comfortable zone of the political “center” not realizing that the center in the middle of a political right shift also shifts further to the right.

Kirk may not be getting mainstream media attention right now, but he’s still revered as a martyr on the right. Statues of him are going up in every state. High schools in Texas added him to the curriculum of civil rights leaders next to MLK. College Republican meetings still begin with a moment of silence in his memory. And my God, the right wing fundraising in his name is relentless.

Hell, MAGA is getting into slap fights about whether he would have supported the invasion of Iran - and isn’t the strength of a dead man’s legacy shown by how many people twist his words to claim that legacy for their own?

You say that, but a “conservative” friend, who has been voting on the left as of late, claims the shooter was on the left because of trans connections and “It doesn’t make sense the right would shoot their own.” I brought up the subset of groypers that helps explain it, but this was rejected and it was suggested I was blind to the truth by my biases and there was no convincing him.

The most acceptable loss for the Freedumb to own guns? I saw plenty of things making fun of him. Even before his body fully hit the floor. My favorite was a package of fruit gushers that had been altered to say Kirk Gushers and had his face with a flow of liquid coming from the neck.

I’m not afraid to say it - Charlie Kirk laughed and I’m glad. Good riddance. My only problem with it is that it made him a martyr. Better that these shitheads die of natural causes.
