Well, there goes any reason to own a framework! Might consider replacing my laptop before RAM is 1000$/1GiB...

@maxine ThinkPads have *always* been easy to repair. If you buy one, look for the "HMM" (Hardware Maintenance Manual) it lists all the components and procedures.
@claudius I am very glad that you can resolder a usb-c port at home, but I cannot, and so the switch to daughter boards for ports and easily swappable screen assemblies is personally welcome.

@maxine I never claimed that. But when the comparison is Framework, then ThinkPads have had a similar level since forever.

It's nice that they extended that beyond their previous (good) level, but while I have upgraded all my laptops, and replaced batteries for most, replaced the screen on one, i never had a faulty USB, HDMI or charging port on any of them.
