Who do you think will win the AI race?

Info: AI needs power.
China ended 2025 with 3.89 TW of installed power capacity.

the U.S. sits at roughly 1.3TW total, less than what China added since 2021.

Trump's solution? The tech giants to build their own generators so "no one's prices will go up."

Bold strategy from a man who loves drilling, while governing a grid that tries to keep pace with a country that installed more solar in the first half of 2025 than America has ever built in total.

@Climatehistories @garbageman see also: rising oil prices. That's going to make power much more expensive in countries that "drill baby drill". What kind of idiot would ruin a country like that and then invade the middle east to make oil even more expensive?

@Climatehistories To be fair, we have also not built entire planned cities that no one ended up living in and are falling apart now.

It's not really fair to compare CCP with Western-style states. CCP has accomplished a lot because it's a much smaller number of people making all the decisions, with a minimum of essential criticism. You get more done, but a lot of it's wasteful and stupid.
