@Fleedar Through engineering that, I am assuming, was too expensive for a $599 MacBook.

@gruber I assumed there was little engineering done with the A12Z since it was seemingly an off the shelf iPad SOC, but maybe the effort was indeed made if the chip was always intended to be a test run for an Apple silicon Mac?
