@momo how do computer people do privacy respecting backups?

@pollyglot
Good question. I am searching for a solution for people who do live in my area, that is reliable and does not involve them to deep dive and also not me to provide a service for them.

I am using restic with systemd scripts that I wrote. I have been using borg and obnam before.

@momo cool! my backup solution has been going "i will simply get better at data recovery if my disks fail" and so far this has turned out okay but it's probably my the best idea
@pollyglot I am really bad at data recovery. ddrescue is the only tool that I ever used for such cases, or changing the case of an external harddisk because the USB-SATA-bridge controller was damaged.

@momo hello!

Duplicati to free Backblaze/ Filen account. You can use Duplicacy too, similar foss softwares.

You can use any other storage provider as long as the backup is encrypted.
