Who wants to read about how some archaeologists from the #UniversityOfTennesseeKnoxville found an 18th century condom in an abandoned well, analysed it and then recreated it from sheeps' intestines using the technology of the time? No one? Tough, here's the article anyway.

#ExperimentalArchaeology

I have learned many things from that article, mostly that I'm glad I wasn't a heterosexual in the 18th century which to be honest I already knew but also a lot about the history of contraception.
I have also learned the phrase "triboelectric effect", which as a mature professional adult I'm definitely not sniggering about
@afewbugs An equally mature professional adult probably came up with «Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS)»
@afewbugs a while ago I did a song about triboluminescence, which is spelled similarly so is probably similar

(It’s on limited edition, I’ll be cutting my distrokid account before next month and I’ll let them take it off the catalogues)

@afewbugs I dare say, being a homosexual in the 18th century was probably even worse. 🫣
@proedie good point, well made
