Wtf, I just clicked an unsubscribe link in a big Italian auto replacement parts distributor's newsletter and the confirmation page said "Your request for unsubscription has been noted and will be processed in 8 to 10 days. We thank you for your understanding"
Is there an employee somewhere that walks to a fax machine once a week to pick up a stack of paper unsubscription requests? Does that employee have a way to filter the list of subscriptions on some newsletter tool, do they know about ctrl+f or just scroll the list until they find someone? Or is their job to send an email with the addresses to remove to their tech consultancy firm?
I really hope that's just really defensive copy written by someone who wasn't sure what system was actually going to be implemented...
