Do we need to get ready for a "only made in EU" linux distribution? (I haven't looked, is there one?)
The age verification bullshit is going to become a problem.
I'm currently using #Pop_OS and pretty happy with it, but their stance does (for now?) not to be very firm against this.

@waldschnecke Does money grow on trees? Is it the fault of System67 that this law is being made? No it's not. And as long as money does not grow on trees, you simply can't just violate law and get fined to a really high amount. They have a stance against this, but they financially can't just ignore it and actively violate it. Also age verification (if you read the bill) does not involve showing your id or scanning your face. Just a simple date selector for your age would be enough.
@theredstonedev_de That may be the case that it "doesn't leave the OS" - but the consequence is that *we* will not be able to use certain services without this.
And I'm not "blaming" system76, but it's still a major disappointment. For an "inhouse" development you can't just easily outsource this into an other country - I'm aware.
But the more people & companies comply, the heftier the impact on services that will force us all to use this (or be excluded) will be.
