Two markers of spring happening, that I really enjoy: the local high school has running teams going past the house. Seems a little early for cross country, but they’re clearly on a team of some kind. I love how they always look happy, not bedraggled. GO KIDS! They yell to each other while they’re running. Sometimes if my window is open I’ll hear it, and they’re often good-naturedly laughing and teasing.

Second sign: the almond tree is blooming!

@hollie What are these “blooms” of which you speak? We have this funny white stuff covering the ground here still! Glad spring is happening out there now, the almond tree blooms are beautiful!

@starshaped Ah yes, the white stuff! We don't see a great deal of that in Eugene, Oregon. :) But rain, we got all the rain you need

@hollie One thing I loved when I lived in PDX was how it stayed green all winter long, and how things started blooming in late February. I so miss that here! I definitely prefer the rain over snow.

@starshaped Oh, I love that too! I was born here but the green and the water keeps me here. :)
